The Chestnut Xanthographic Indication Chestnut (IXP) currently has 1,224 hectares of registered area, with 149 registered producers and ten fresh marketers and storekeepers: only during the past year 106,809 kilos of chestnut were certified, which generated an estimated economic value of almost 800,000 euros. This seal is reserved exclusively for the fruits obtained from the native crops of Galicia.
